Spruce trio

Here comes another of long cultivated trees in our garden...
Jeden z dalších stromů, o které se staráme už dlouhé roky...

My father purchase these spruces in a local nursery some 20+ years ago, later, they just grew-suffer-grew-suffer in a poor soil and without any serious intervention till 2005 when we decided tjat it coulf be a good idea to put the trees together and create a group composition. Once trees recovered from repotting, in 2006 the first styling (major branches selection) took place.

Taťka tyto smrky přinesl z jednoho zahradnictví již před více než 20 lety, ale až do roku 2005 pouze "přežívaly" v květináči a v bonsajově nedobrém substrátu. Onoho roku padlo rozhodnutí, že by nebylo marné z nich vytvořit skupinku, což jsme ještě téhož jara učinili. Fotky z prvního tvarování níže se datují do roku 2006.

Quite unhappy with the red container, we had been looking for a better maching pot till we found this natural stone slab and made another repotting in spring 2008. Below you can see the group in summer 2009 after its next styling.

Červený květináč zrovna nebyl dvakrát velkou ozdobou našich polic, proto jsme se poohlíželi po vhodnější míse, až jsme našli velikostně odpovídající kamennou desku, na níž jsme skupinku přemístili na jaře 2008. Další foto pochází z roku 2009 po přetvarování stromů.

Tři obrázky z roku 2010 - z fotek s poměrem velikostí je zřejmě, že se nejedná o žádné "trpasličí" smrky :-) (aktuální výška 116 cm)...

This fall I´ve made a further restyling of the spruces attempting to turn them into more naturalistic and spruce-like looking group. In previous years I rather neglected work on tree´s tops, this time I made really minucious branch selection and wired everything in order to get neater and ramification in the future. 

A tento podzim proběhlo zatím poslední tvarování smrkové skupinky, přičemž jsem se snažil, aby po tvarování stromy vypadaly "smrkověji", naturálněji. Při minulých tvarováních nebyl nikdy důkladně probrán vrchol stromů, tentokrát jsem poctivě vystříhal všechny nepotřebné větvičky a pečlivě rozmístil ty potřebně tak, aby v budoucnu rostlo a vyvíjelo se jenom to, co se vyvíjet má...

Larix duo

Weel, another rather fragile tree which has a long history in our garden...In 1982 my dad picked up a bunch of young larch seedlings in a local forest and he planted them right into containers. So, since then these larches has been grown as "pre-bonsais, hence they kept their delicate character which has matured over the years (in actual state, no wire on branches at all). In 2004 first serious bonsai work took place, later on the group has passed through another stylings, in 2009 it got this nice pot by czech potter Hugo Studeník, which unfortunately broke due to fall caused by strong wind and next spring it´s got to be repotted, preferably onto a well-shaped natural stone slab. The progress will be reported...

Tato modřínová skupinka je další ze stromů, jež mají dlouhou historii... V roce 1982 taťka sesbíral modřínové semenáčky, které hned nasadil do květináčů - proto mají tyto i další zmiňované modříny za sebou již 30 let pěstování v nádobě, což se příliš neprojevilo na mohutnosti kmenů, ale naopak na celkové vyzrálosti stromů. V roce 2004 přišly na řadu první "serióznější" bonsajové zákroky, v roce 2009 byla skupinka přesazena do misky od Huga Studeníka, která se však před nedávnem rozbila po pádu z police. Na jaře proto budeme pro modříny hledat novou misku, či spíše vhodnou placku z přírodního kamene, nová podoba skupinky bude určitě zdokumentována...

Hornbeam & beech forest

This group planting is one of the biggest projects in our garden. It consists of 17 trees which has been grown in ground for several years - at this point it should be pointed out that the final selection was made out of almost 40 prepared trees, the rest of them is still waiting to be planted together in the future.
The story of the forest has been initiated in the spring of 2009 and we spent around 20 hours finding right trees and putting them onto their right place.

Tento listnatý lesík je jedním z nejrozměrnějších bonsajových projektů na naší zahradě. Celkem se skládá ze 17 stromů, které byly několik let připravovány ve volné půdě - na tomto místě by bylo vhodné zmínit, že k dispozici jsme měli kolem 40 stromů, ze kterých jsme vybírali a které jsme sesazovali "na to správné místo" celkem více než 20 hodin. 

As for the pot, we made this custom 130 x 90 cm concrete training pot, which serves its purpose and it does not look that bad neither :-).
Pro sesazení jsme vyrobili tuto pěstební betonovou mísu o rozměrech 130 x 90 cm.

And this is the result immediately after the planting (sorry, no better photo available) :-(.
A tady je výsledek sesazování, foceno následující den, bohužel lepší foto není k dispozici.

The first decent photo was taken in the winter 2009/2010, in spite of its dimensions, it´s not a big deal for two people to carry the whole thing.
První slušné fotky byly pořízeny až na přelomu let 2009 a 2010 - navzdory velikosti lesíku se stále jedná o "dvouchlapovou záležitost".

The forest after two more growing seasons (2011) in the autumn colours.
Lesík po dalších dvou sezónách se na podzim 2011 takto pěkně vybarvil.

This april was the the time to make a further trimming of the trees, my father poses as a size comparison.
Letos v dubnu pak došlo na důkladnější prostřih a další focení kompozice.
